WILTON (WGME) — Maine State Police says a Wilton man was shot and injured by police after a standoff Friday afternoon.
Police were called to 58 Cemetery Road in Wilton around 1:06 p.m. Friday after it was reported that 34-year-old Gabriele Wilbur of Wilton was threatening to shoot a male who was doing landscaping in the yard.
Police attempted to talk Wilbur down, but he refused to follow commands.
Officials say Wilbur pointed a gun at police.
After a short standoff, police say Wilbur confronted officers while armed, and he was shot by police.
He was taken to Maine Medical Center with non-life-threatening injuries.
Officials say Wilbur is expected to be charged with several crimes.
