Wichita Man dies in motorcycle crash Sunday in Osage County

OSAGE COUNTY, Kan. (WIBW) – A Wichita man has died following a motorcycle crash Sunday night in Osage County.

The Kansas Highway Patrol reported the crash happened around 7:40 p.m. Sunday on I-335 (Kansas Turnpike) just outside the Shawnee County line.

A 2016 Harley Davidson FLH series motorcycle was traveling in the right lane when it left the roadway, overcorrected back onto the highway, and overturned onto its side. The motorcycle then skidded off the road, hit a delineator post, and entered a grassy ditch, where it rolled several times.

The rider was ejected during the crash. The motorcycle continued to roll southbound in the ditch before coming to a stop and catching fire.

The rider, Christian Kaufman, 69, of Wichita, was taken to a local hospital, where he died shortly after.
