Westbound I-70 closed near Eisenhower Tunnel for crash


Westbound Interstate 70 is closed Wednesday near the Eisenhower-Johnson Memorial Tunnel because of an early morning crash, according to the Colorado Department of Transportation.

As of 6:25 a.m., westbound I-70 was closed between exit 216 for Loveland Pass and exit 205 for Silverthorne, according to state transportation officials.

The crash happened at about 4:20 a.m. Wednesday, injuring at least one driver, according to reporting from Denver7.

Information on the cause of the crash, the number of vehicles involved and when the highway will reopen remains unknown.
