In a brazen act of theft, two minor boys were caught on CCTV stealing a scooter in Bhubaneswar’s Bharatpur area.
Recently, the incident occurred when the duo allegedly arrived under the pretext of plucking flowers and stole the vehicle within minutes.
Despite the owner lodging a formal complaint, police are yet to apprehend the culprits.
CCTV Footage Reveals Swift Theft
The CCTV footage shows the two boys entering the area casually before spotting the parked scooter. Within minutes, they are seen wheeling the two-wheeler away and fleeing the scene.
The video, now circulating widely on social media, has raised concerns about rising petty crimes in residential neighbourhoods.
Owner Lodges Complaint, Police Yet to Act
The scooter’s owner, Sanjeev Pradhan, promptly reported the incident to Bharatpur police station. However, no arrests have been made so far.
Locals alleged that despite repeated incidents of theft in the area, police patrolling remains inadequate.
Residents Demand Better Security
Residents claim that this is not the first such incident in Bharatpur. They are now urging authorities to step up surveillance and night patrolling to curb such crimes.
Concerned police officials are yet to comment on the investigation.
