Two arrested following shooting in Mississippi


PORT GIBSON, Miss. (WLBT) – Two people have been arrested following a shooting in Port Gibson.

On Saturday, officers with the Port Gibson Police Department responded to the area of Magnolia Street and Bridewell Lane for a reported shooting.

Officers found Justin Ellis at an address nearby suffering from a gunshot wound to the left thigh.

Ellis was taken to a local hospital.

After the investigation, Kerrien Flowers was arrested and charged with aggravated assault for the shooting.

Ellis, who is also a convicted felon, was charged with possession of a firearm by a convicted felon.

Justin and Kerrien are set for their initial appearance on July 29 in the Municipal Court of Port Gibson.
