TABOR CITY, N.C. (WECT) -Deputies arrested and charged two men after finding several illegal narcotics in a Green Acres home.
According to the Columbus County Sheriff’s Office (CCSO), investigators executed a search warrant on a house off Pine Circle Road on July 14.
CCSO states law enforcement was informed of drug activity in the area due to multiple community complaints.
An investigation uncovered narcotics trafficking from the residence. During the search, several individuals attempted to run, and detectives pursued one person through a neighboring yard before catching them.
According to CCSO, crack cocaine, powder cocaine and marijuana were seized as well as items commonly used in trafficking and packaging illegal drugs and U.S. money believed to be from drug sales.
41-year-old Michael Jermaine Strickland was arrested for two counts of trafficking in cocaine, possession with intent to manufacture, sell deliver (PWIMSD) cocaine, PWIMSD a schedule II controlled substance, PWIMSD marijuana and misdemeanor possession of drug paraphernalia.
39-year-old Willis Henry Boyd was charged with misdemeanor resisting a public officer.
CCSO states vice-narcotics detectives are still working to identify additional suspects, and the incident is under investigation.
