A Tulsa man on probation after pleading guilty to five armed robberies is now back in jail, accused of repeatedly breaking the rules of his probation.
Judge Sharon Holmes sentenced Trevion Richardson to 15 years in prison for the robberies in 2023, but he served just two years before she let him out and put him into the ARISE counseling program.
The Tulsa County District Attorney put out a scathing statement after Judge Holmes released Richardson, saying it put the public in danger. Richardson has been on probation since February, and prosecutors say he’s tested positive for marijuana eight times.
2023 Robbery Case:
Trevion Richardson was sentenced to 15 years in prison after pleading guilty in February of 2023 to 5 counts of robbery with a gun.
Richardson admitted to robbing employees of the same grocery store three times, and the same gas station twice, within two weeks. Richardson also went to a Tulsa library, where he had been banned, pulled a gun on the security guard and assaulted him.
The Department of Corrections says Richardson only took one course while in prison and had a clean record, but they did not recommend reducing his sentence.
February 2025:
Richardson had 12 years left on his sentence when Judge Sharon Holmes put Richardson on probation and sent him to ARISE, even though the DA was strongly against it.
At the time, the DA released a statement saying the judge’s decision to release Richardson unleashes “potential harm upon the community.”
DA Asking Judge to Revoke Probation:
Prosecutors have filed a request asking Judge Holmes to revoke Richardson’s probation.
Prosecutors say that from March to July, Richardson has tested positive for marijuana eight times and was also kicked out of a halfway house for using marijuana. They say he also didn’t show up for his urine tests, 18 times.
The judge will make a decision on Richardson’s probation in August.
We called the Tulsa County Public Defender’s office and were told they aren’t able to comment. We also called Judge Holmes’ office, and her clerk said they didn’t have any comment.
