VILLAGE OF HAVERSTRAW, NY — Relatively new technology helped solve a case in Rockland County, according to prosecutors.
District Attorney Tom Walsh says that a Rockland County grand jury has handed down an indictment against 19-year-old Valadmair Fogle, 23-year-old David Ross, and 18-year-old Elijah Eurie, all of West Haverstraw, charging each with two counts of second-degree robbery.
They each face from three-and-a-half years to 15 years in state prison, if convicted.
Prosecutors say that at around 7:22 p.m., on July 11, the trio physically attacked a 61-year-old man on New Main Street, in the Village of Haverstraw. They approached the victim as he walked down the front porch steps of his home, according to investigators. Authorities say that as the victim continued down the stairs, the three grabbed the victim by his shirt and then hit him in his right eye.
The victim was then hit behind his neck as the incident continued onto New Main Street, according to the district attorney, where the trio surrounded the victim as he fell to the ground. Fogle, Ross and Eurie then stole the victim’s silver chain necklace and fled towards Clove Avenue, according to the D.A. The victim received an injury to his eye and had substantial pain from the attack, according to authorities.
The district attorney says that the attack was captured on a drone camera that was conducting surveillance in the Village of Haverstraw.
The Town of Haverstraw Police Department investigated the incident with assistance from the Rockland County District Attorney’s Office.
