LOVELAND, Ohio (WXIX) – A driver went to the hospital with minor injuries after her vehicle collided with a train in downtown Loveland, a fire official tells FOX19 NOW.
Multiple people called 911 to report the crash shortly after it happened in the 100 block of West Loveland Avenue just before 5 a.m. Tuesday, Hamilton County dispatchers say.
The driver, a woman, was taken to Bethesda North Hospital and is expected to recover, said Loveland Fire Battalion Chief Bill Adkins.
“A few seconds earlier or even a second earlier, it might have been a very different outcome,” he said.
The Indiana & Ohio Railway train stopped and cooperated with the investigation, he confirmed.
The railroad crossing was shut down for a couple of hours, as well as West Loveland Avenue, 2nd Street and Riverside.
The train is on its way again and all roads are back open, according to Adkins.
