BROOKLYN PARK, MINNESOTA: A 17-year-old girl has died after being shot outside a U-Haul facility in Brooklyn Park Tuesday evening, according to the Brooklyn Park Police Department.
Officers were dispatched to the area of Lakeland Avenue and 70th Avenue just before 8 p.m. on July 1, 2025, following reports of a shooting. Upon arrival, they found the teenage victim suffering from life-threatening gunshot wounds. Police say officers immediately began life-saving efforts until paramedics arrived and transported the victim to a nearby hospital. Despite those efforts, she was later pronounced dead at the hospital.
A perimeter was quickly established, and multiple law enforcement agencies, including a Minnesota State Patrol helicopter, joined in the search for the suspect. However, no arrests have been made at this time, and the suspect remains at large.
Crime scene investigators from the Hennepin County Sheriff’s Office processed the scene, and detectives from the Brooklyn Park Police Department are actively investigating the case. Authorities have not released the victim’s identity or any suspect information at this time.
