A teenager has been arrested on suspicion of shooting and killing a 23-year-old Bakersfield woman early Saturday at Heritage Park.
The Bakersfield Police Department said a 15-year-old boy was arrested following the 1:25 a.m. shooting. It did not identify the suspect or provide any other information about him.
Separately, the Kern County coroner’s office identified Leana Margarita Perez as the shooting victim. It said she died 27 minutes after being taken to Kern Medical for treatment.
BPD asked that anyone with information about the case call the agency at 661-327-7111.
