ST. HELENA ISLAND, S.C. (WCIV) — A 17-year-old has been arrested in connection to the murder of a 14-year-old in a shooting incident on St. Helena Island, according to the Beaufort County Sheriff’s Office.
Charles Jamirea Williams, 17, of St. Helena Island, was arrested Thursday night for a shooting that occurred on July 18.
He was served warrants for his arrest on the charges of murder, possession of a weapon during the commission of a violent crime and unlawful possession of a firearm.

According to a report from the sheriff’s office, the shooting incident was reported through the Beaufort County Sheriff’s Office Communications Center in the evening of July 18 at Capers Island Circle on St. Helena Island.
Upon arrival, officers located a gunshot victim on scene and despite lifesaving efforts the individual died on scene as a result of their injuries.
Throughout the investigation, Williams was identified as the individual responsible, and warrants were obtained for his arrest.
