STANTON, Neb. (KTIV) – The Stanton County Sheriff’s Office says a man is facing several charges following a gun incident.
According to a press release, around 3 a.m. on July 27, a Stanton County Sheriff’s deputy observed a vehicle spinning its tires on Main Street in Stanton.
When the deputy stopped the vehicle near 7th and Locust, the driver exited his vehicle and took a gun from his waist.
The Sheriff’s deputy immediately confronted him with his drawn firearm and verbal commands
The driver, identified as 38-year-old Allan Wurdinger of Stanton, put the firearm down on the back of his vehicle, but became uncooperative and verbally combative, refusing verbal commands.

The deputy called for backup, leading the Stanton County Sheriff to assist. Wurdinger physically resisted efforts to handcuff him and place him in a patrol unit.
Wurdinger was subdued and booked on the following charges:
- Exhibition Driving
- Obstructing a Police Officer
- Resisting Arrest-2nd offense
- Possession of Marijuana & Drug Paraphernalia
A loaded gun that Wurdinger had was seized during the investigation.
