SHELBY COUNTY, Tenn. (WZTV) — Shelby County Sheriff’s Office (SCSO) detectives are investigating a fatal shooting that resulted in four people injured and the death of an 18-year-old.
Officers arrived at an intersection where they stopped a vehicle and found a gunshot victim. They provided life-saving measures until the Shelby County Fire Department (SCFD) arrived at the scene. Despite their efforts, SCFD later pronounced the victim dead on the scene.
Detectives have identified the victim as Corey Adams, 18, from New Orleans, LA.
Deputies later found multiple shell casings after arriving at Fern Glade Cove and learned that four adult males had arrived at area hospitals with gunshot wounds. According to SCSO, all four are in non-critical condition.
SCSO detectives are treating the incident as an active homicide investigation. They urged anyone with information about the shooting to contact Crimestoppers at 528-CASH.
