A second teenager has been arrested in connection to a fatal shooting that took place in a parking lot in the 9000 block of Avenue J on Monday.
Eddie Monroe, 17, was arrested Friday and booked into the East Baton Rouge Parish prison on a count of second-degree murder.
Monroe has an extensive arrest record, a release from BRPD says, having been arrested on previous counts of first-degree murder and attempted first-degree murder.
The attempted murder charge comes from his alleged involvement in 2024’s Christmas Parade shooting that injured one woman non-fatally. In that case, Monroe was part of a group of boys who got into an altercation with another group of teenagers, which escalated into gunfire.
Monroe is believed by BRPD to be the triggerman in Monday’s Avenue J shooting that killed 22-year-old Victor Lapharohs.
A second teenager, a 16-year-old, was also arrested Thursday in connection to Lapharohs’ killing.
