BATON ROUGE, La. (WAFB) – Police have arrested a second suspect in the fatal shooting of 22-year-old Victor LaPharohs, who was found dead in a Scotlandville parking lot last week.
According to Baton Rouge Police, Eddie Monroe, 17, was taken into custody on July 4 with help from the U.S. Marshals Fugitive Task Force. He was booked into East Baton Rouge Parish Prison on a charge of second-degree murder.
Documents show he was previously arrested in connection with a December 2024 shooting during the Christmas season, where he and others were accused of opening fire near River Road.
A woman was injured in that shooting, and Monroe was charged with attempted first-degree murder, illegal use of a weapon, and illegal possession of a handgun by a juvenile.
The investigation remains ongoing. Anyone with additional information is urged to call Crime Stoppers at 225-344-7867 or the BRPD Violent Crimes Unit at 225-389-4869.
