Roommate arrested in fatal shooting in Sachse | Sachse News

A 21-year-old man was arrested early Saturday in connection with the fatal shooting of his roommate following a disturbance at a home in Dallas County, police said.

The Sachse Police Department responded to a 9-1-1 call around 4:37 a.m. on July 19 reporting a disturbance in the 2200 block of Bent Oak Trail. Officers arrived to find that an altercation had taken place between two roommates.

According to police, Rick Jones allegedly shot his roommate during the incident. The victim was pronounced dead at the scene. Jones was taken into custody without incident and transported to the Rowlett Jail, where he was booked on a charge of murder.

Authorities have not released the victim’s name, pending notification of next of kin. Investigators said the case remains active but noted there is no ongoing threat to the public.
