LAHORE (Dunya News) – Crime Control Department (CCD) of Iqbal Town claimed that a hardcore bandit was killed by the firing of his own accomplices during an ‘encounter’ with police, Dunya reported here on Saturday.
The suspected robber identified as Tanveer was being escorted by police to Sabzazar for the purpose of recovery of looted valuables when they came under fire by the accomplices of the under custody suspect, the police said.
In the exchange of fire, suspected outlaw was hit by bullets, which caused his immediate death. The assailants escaped. Police launched a manhunt for them by cordoning off the area. Police said the dead outlaw was wanted in dozens of cases of theft, robbery and other heinous crimes.
TWO ROBBERS ARRESTED IN KARACHI
In Karachi, two alleged robbers were arrested after an exchange of fire with police in Haidery Market, near KDA Chowrangi. They were identified as Irfan and Ihtesham. One of them was injured in encounter and shifted to hospital. In another incident, a 30-year old man was shot dead by unidentified attackers. The deceased was identified as Adil. Police were investigating.
INJURED ON RESISTANCE
In Quetta, a passer-by was injured by bandits on resistance. On Saryab Road, some robbers attempted to snatch a mobile phone from the man and injured him when he resisted. Police were investigating.
