RENO, Nev. (KOLO) – A Reno woman has been arrested after police say she was distributing child pornography to a man in Redding, California.
In April, the Redding Police Department arrested a man for allegedly possessing child pornography. During the investigation, they say they learned that the suspect had been receiving and sending child pornography from a woman in Reno, who was identified as Kristin Montegna.
In May, detectives with the Redding Police Department contacted the Human Exploitation and Trafficking Unit of the Washoe County Sheriff’s Office and provided them with the information.
The Reno Police Department says that Montegna possessed and was distributing child pornography of children between the ages of 1 and 13.
On July 16, HEAT Detectives arrested the 22-year-old Montegna.
Police then executed a search warrant at Montegna’s residence, where they say they found additional evidence.
RPD says Montegna and the suspect in the Redding case had not only been distributing and receiving child pornography but had discussed finding and/or locating a child to perform sex acts on.
Montegna was booked into the Washoe County Detention Center on charges of distributing child pornography, possession of child pornography of a person under the age of 16 and conspiracy to commit sexual assault on a minor.
