Granite Falls, WI (KROC-AM News)- One person was killed and another was injured in a Minnesota plane crash Monday.

A news release issued by the Yellow Medicine County Sheriff’s Office says the plane went down shortly after 5:30 p.m. Two souls were aboard the plane.
First responders were made aware of the aircraft having difficulties about 10 minutes before the crash.
One Killed, One Injured in Plane Crash Near Granite Falls Airport in Western Minnesota
Records from the website FlightAware indicates the jet had departed from the Watertown Regional Airport in South Dakota and was bound for Fond Du Lac Airport in Wisconsin. It was tracked flying around the airport before crashing shortly before 5:30 p.m.
The jet was reportedly experiencing engine troubles near the airport in Granite Falls.

A 911 call reporting the plane crash indicated the aircraft went down north of the intersection of Hwy. 23 and Yellow Medicine County Rd. 39, which is west of the northern end of the runway at the Granite Falls Airport.
One of the occupants on board was seen standing on the side of the road. They received medical attention. An update on the person’s condition is not available.
The other occupant was pronounced dead at the scene, the news release says. Authorities are withholding the names of the occupants pending notification of next of kin.
Yellow Medicine County authorities say they have notified the Federal Aviation Administration (FAA) and the National Transportation Safety Board (NTSB) about the crash and that the federal agencies will be conducting a full investigation into the incident.
