Pilot in fatal Lancaster County plane crash identified; revealed to be Lebanon resident

The pilot who died in Sunday’s plane crash near Lancaster Airport has been identified by the coroner.

Musaddiq Nazeeri, 58, was pronounced dead on the scene in Warwick Township at 8:51 a.m., according to the release.

The preliminary report from the Lancaster County Coroner’s Office says Nazeeri was from Lebanon city.

The man’s primary cause and manner of death are still under investigation.

He was the sole occupant of the aircraft, which was found in a cornfield about two miles from the airport, officials said.

The coroner said Nazeeri’s body was transported to the Lancaster County Forensic Center for further investigation.

An autopsy has been scheduled.

The nature of the crash itself is also still being investigated by the FAA and NTSB.
