ATLANTA, Ga. (Atlanta News First) – A Paulding County man has been convicted of robbing a bank in 2023, alongside several attempted bank robberies, according to the U.S. Department of Justice.
The Department of Justice said Khyri Deandre Brown, 28, robbed a Fifth Third bank on Nov. 27, 2023. Brown walked in, showed a gun to a teller and demanded money. The DOJ said he then walked behind the counter, grabbed money and stuffed it in a green Pringles can before leaving.
He was arrested two days later after a traffic stop.
Brown had tried to rob three other banks earlier that month, but walked away empty-handed from all three, the DOJ said.
Brown pleaded guilty to two counts of attempted bank robbery, one count of armed bank robbery, one count of attempted armed bank robbery, and one count of brandishing a firearm during and in relation to a crime of violence. He was sentenced to 10 years and five months in prison, followed by three years of supervised release.
