BUCKS COUNTY, PA — The Pennsylvania Department of Transportation (PennDOT) has announced overnight lane closures on U.S. 1 in Bensalem and Middletown townships as part of a major infrastructure initiative to reconstruct and expand a critical stretch of highway in Bucks County.
From Sunday, July 20, through Friday, July 25, lane closures will be in effect nightly from 8:00 PM to 6:00 AM in both directions between Fairhill Avenue and the Pennsylvania Turnpike Interchange. PennDOT advises motorists to expect delays and allow additional time when traveling through the area. All operations are weather dependent.
This work falls under the $116 million U.S. 1/RC2 contract, which involves the complete reconstruction and widening of a three-mile segment of U.S. 1, extending from south of the Rockhill Drive Interchange to north of the Penndel/Business U.S. 1 Interchange.
