One hospitalized after crash involving Jackson County Deputy


JACKSON COUNTY, Miss. (WLOX) – One person was hospitalized after a wreck involving a Jackson County Sheriff’s Deputy on Thursday, July 17.

The wreck happened on Telephone Road in Pascagoula.

According to officials, an SUV pulled out of a parking lot into the path of the deputy.

Pascagoula Police Chief Terry Scott said the deputy swerved but collided with the SUV, which flipped on its side.

The driver of the SUV was brought to the hospital. The extent of their injuries is unknown.

Chief Scott said the deputy’s injuries did not require hospitalization.
