NORTH BEND, Ore. — A North Bend man was arrested Monday evening following an investigation into an earlier assault and a coordinated search warrant operation, according to the North Bend Police Department.
At about 3 p.m. on July 28, officers began investigating a reported assault in the 2800 block of Broadway Avenue. During the investigation, officers developed probable cause to arrest Jacob Moore, 39, of North Bend.
Police obtained a search warrant for a residence in the same block. Due to a potential threat of violence, the Coos County Sheriff’s Office Emergency Response Team was requested to assist.
At approximately 8:40 p.m., North Bend officers — including two crisis negotiators — and members of the Emergency Response Team executed the search warrant at the residence. Moore was taken into custody without incident.
He was transported to the Coos County Jail and booked on charges of first-degree criminal mistreatment and fourth-degree assault.
The North Bend Police Department was assisted by the Coos County Sheriff’s Office Emergency Response Team, the Coos County Probation Department, North Coos Dispatch, the North Bend Fire Department and Bay Cities Ambulance.
