Officers from multiple Massachusetts police departments, as well as Massachusetts State Police, are searching for a person suspected of robbing a jewelry store in North Andover on Thursday.
“This morning, North Andover Police alerted State Police of an armed robbery at the Chickering Plaza,” State Police said in a statement obtained by MassLive. “The State Police Air Wing, K-9 and Troop A personnel responded to assist in securing a perimeter and locating the suspects.”
State Police spokesperson Tim McGuirk told MassLive that it was a “live scene.”
Officers and troopers, along with helicopters, were above a wooded area next to Interstate 495 in North Andover.
Heavy traffic was reported by Mass 511 on the northbound side of Interstate 495 in North Andover, with traffic also slowed down on the southbound side in Methuen. Officers were on the southbound side.
