Motorcyclist dead after crash in Aiken


AIKEN, S.C. (WRDW/WAGT) – Aiken County Coroner’s Office is investigating a deadly two-vehicle accident.

28-year-old Summer Poole of New Ellenton has died following a crash Saturday at the intersection of Whiskey Road and Chukker Creek Road, according to the coroner’s office.

The incident was reported at 6:09 p.m, and Aiken Department of Public Safety responded to the scene.

Poole was the rider of a 2003 Honda motorcycle traveling south on Whiskey Road when it struck a northbound Honda Civic that pulled into her path, the coroner’s office says.

Poole was pronounced dead on the scene of the incident at 6:53 p.m. and will be autopsied next week in Newberry, officials say.

The coroner’s office, along with the Aiken Department of Public Safety, is investigating.
