Motorcyclist arrested for deadly 2024 crash in Windsor


WINDSOR, CT (WFSB) – A man was arrested on manslaughter and other charges following a deadly 2024 motorcycle crash in Windsor.

Randy Carrero, 33, of Manchester, was charged with first-degree manslaughter, first-degree reckless endangerment, reckless driving, speeding, and failure to maintain lane.

State police had an active warrant for his arrest.

Carrero turned himself in on Wednesday.

The incident happened in Aug. 2024 on the Interstate 91 south exit 35A off ramp in Windsor.

State police said Carrero was riding a motorcycle when he veered into the left shoulder of the ramp and collided with a guardrail.

The crash led to the death of 20-year-old Valerie Ann Eaton.

Both Carrero and Eaton were thrown from the bike.

While he suffered minor injuries, troopers said Eaton was pronounced dead on the scene.

Carrero was held on a $500,000 bond and arraigned in Hartford Superior Court.
