MADISON, Wis. — A man threatened to shoot a dog Monday evening that was trying to bit his dog, according to the Madison Police Department.
Officers responded to the animal complaint at Waltham Park right before 5 p.m., where they learned about a man who had a handgun.
Police said the man was cooperative and claimed he was walking his dog when another dog chewed its own collar and ultimately attacked his dog.
The man reportedly got his handgun and allegedly said he would shoot the dog if it did not stop attacking his dog.
Upon further investigation, police found that the man is a Concealed Carry Weapon holder but did not have his card on him at the time of the incident.
Police issued the man a misdemeanor citation for failure to carry CCW card, while the other dog’s owner received a citation for having a dog off leash.
