HOUSTON – Police found a man shot to death outside July 4th party at a short-term rental in Third Ward.

Officers responded to a shooting call on Delano Street and Anita Street at about 1 a.m. Saturday.

“Everybody started running but we didn’t hear nothing,” said one witness. “He was already on the ground.”

Police found the victim with multiple gunshot wounds lying in the street and began performing CPR.

The man died on the scene.

A man was detained at the scene, but it was unknown if he was connected to the shooting.
