Man shot in chest during argument at Seattle’s waterfront; suspect taken into custody


An adult man was shot in the chest at Seattle’s waterfront Thursday evening, according to the Seattle Police Department.

The incident occurred on Alaskan Way just north of Spring Street.

The SPD said the incident began with an argument between the suspect and the victim. The adult man proceeded to shoot the man in the chest, according to police.

The victim was taken to Harborview Medical Center, where he was reported to be in “serious but stable, conscious and alert.”

Police also noted that numerous witnesses saw the shooting and were able to point out the suspect to officers.

Fish and Game officers, along with Pier Security, were at the scene and helped take the suspect into custody.
