Man found dead after shooting in Converse home invasion

Converse Police Department officers responded to a fatal shooting on the city’s far Northeast side.

Police responded to reports of gunshots early Saturday morning in the 200 block of Michelle Drive. Upon arrival, officers discovered multiple shell casings and signs of forced entry at the rear door of a residence.

According to a release by the Converse Police Department, inside the home, officers found a male, believed to be in his 30s, suffering from multiple gunshot wounds.

Converse EMS arrived shortly after and pronounced the man deceased at the scene. His identity is being withheld pending notification of next of kin.

Preliminary investigations suggest the deceased was the sole occupant of the residence. Authorities believe the incident to be isolated, with no immediate threat to the public.
