Clay, N.Y. — A man crashed into two cars in the town of Clay Thursday and was arrested for his second DWI, deputies said.
Around 4:09 p.m., Onondaga County Sheriff’s Office deputies went to a car crash at Oswego and Wetzel roads, according to Deputy Doug Roser, a spokesperson for the sheriff’s office.
An SUV driven by Connor J. Weakley, 32, of Liverpool hit a car and continued to drive away at a high rate of speed, Roser said.
Weakley ran the traffic light at the intersection and hit another car. His car ended up in the ditch in front of Avicolli’s restaurant.
The driver of the second car that Weakley hit was taken to the hospital with minor injuries and back pain.
Weakley was evaluated at the scene for an abrasion to his arm and was not taken to the hospital. The driver of the first vehicle was not injured, Roser said.
Weakley was arrested and taken to the police station where he provided a breath test sample that showed a BAC of .24%, Roser said.
He was charged with aggravated DWI over. 18, DWI over .08, common law DWI, reckless driving, failure to stop at a red light, operating with no insurance, speeding, moving from his lane unsafely, following too closely and leaving the scene of a property damage accident.
He was released with appearance tickets returnable to the Town of Clay Court.
