LASALLE CO., Ill. (KWQC) – A man is facing multiple charges, including reckless homicide, after police say he was on a cellphone, causing a fatal car crash in November 2024.
Daniel Olson, 56, of Manville, Illinois, is charged with:
- Felony reckless homicide
- Felony aggravated unlawful use of an electronic communication device
- Two counts of aggravated unlawful use of an electronic communication device, misdemeanor
In November 2024, 58-year-old David Camp of Princeton was killed and two of his family members were injured after a two-vehicle crash in LaSalle County.
Olson was allegedly accessing the internet on a cellphone when he failed to slow down, crashing into another car, according to court documents.
Olson is due back in court at 9 a.m. on July 31.
