PELL CITY, Ala. (WBRC) – A man has been arrested following a fatal shooting at Lakeside Landing RV Park in Pell City on Friday, July 4.
According to the Pell City Police Chief Clay Morris, the St. Clair County Dispatch received multiple calls about an individual shot around 3:26 a.m. at the RV park.
Morris says Pell City officers arrived and discovered a man suffering from a gunshot wound to the chest.
Police say citizens had already initiated CPR on the victim, and the Pell City Fire Department provided advanced life-saving measures. The victim was taken to UAB St. Vincent’s St. Clair where he was pronounced dead.
Morris says that Barry Norris was immediately identified as the suspect in the fatal shooting and was taken into custody by Pell City Police at the scene.
According to Morris, Norris and the victim were reportedly in an altercation, which resulted in Norris shooting the victim.
Norris was booked in the St. Clair County Jail with a murder charge.
