
A 35-year-old man has been charged in connection to an attempted bank robbery in Old Town on Tuesday, June 24.
Jonathan Levar Robinson has been charged as the suspect wearing a mask, entering the M&T Bank at 833 S. Washington Street, passing the teller a note and demanding cash, according to the Alexandria Police Department. The incident occurred at around 9:30 a.m.
Robinson, who has no fixed address, fled the scene empty-handed on foot. He was arrested later that day in connection with another bank robbery in Prince George’s County, Maryland.
Robinson was charged with attempted robbery by threat and wearing a mask to conceal his identity.
Dispatch reports said that the suspect was wearing a black “COVID” mask, black clothing, and had facial tattoos. The robbery was called in by the bank’s alarm company.

Robinson, who has no fixed address, is currently in custody in Prince George’s County.
Following an investigation by the Alexandria Police Department’s Criminal Investigations Division, Robinson has been charged in connection with the Alexandria incident with the following offenses.
He remains in custody in Prince George’s County awaiting extradition to Alexandria to face these charges.
