Man arrested after 1 injured in downtown Portland stabbing


PORTLAND Ore. (KPTV) – Portland police announced Tuesday that 42-year-old Gary Omar Edwards was arrested on assault charges after a stabbing in downtown Portland that injured one person.

The stabbing happened on Northwest 5th Street shortly after 9:30 a.m. Monday.

Police say a person was stabbed in the shoulder area and went to the hospital with serious injuries.

Edwards was arrested by the Central Bike Squad.

There is no word on the victim’s condition.
