Lisbon woman accused of leaving scene of Amish buggy crash


TOWN OF CANTON, New York (WWNY) – A St. Lawrence County woman faces charges after allegedly crashing into an Amish buggy, seriously injuring 2 people, and leaving the scene.

Sheriff’s deputies charged 35-year-old Larissa Carlin of Lisbon with a felony count of leaving the scene of a personal injury accident.

Officials said Carlin was driving on County Route 14 in the town of Canton Tuesday afternoon when she rear-ended a buggy with a man and 2 juveniles on board.

The sheriff said 2 people were seriously hurt, but described their injuries as not life-threatening.

Carlin allegedly left the scene. Deputies said the vehicle she was driving was later found in the village of Rensselaer Falls.

Carlin was charged and released to appear in Canton Town Court.

The crash remains under investigation.
