A hiker has died after falling 700 feet in a rock slide near Bells Canyon Saturday morning.
The Salt Lake County Sheriff’s Office tells FOX 13 News that the call first came in around 8:45 a.m., when witnesses reported seeing someone slip in a rock slide.
The Sheriff’s Office says the victim, a 49 year-old man, was a solo hiker who was attempting to ascend “one of the more rugged peaks” in the area when the fall occurred.
