EAST LIVERPOOL, Ohio — Commuters in Columbiana County should prepare for delays this week as road work takes place at the interchange of U.S. Route 30 near State Route 7.
The Ohio Department of Transportation announced that rolling closures will be in effect from Tuesday through Friday, between 7 a.m. and 4:30 p.m., as crews work to remove portions of the bridge deck.
“They are replacing the 9th Street Bridge that carries 9th Street over U.S. Route 30, so we’ve seen a lot of traffic impacts happening because of the location of this. A lot of ramp impacts in that area for the State Route 7 U.S. 30 interchange,” said Lauren Borell, ODOT public information officer. “And this week, starting on Tuesday, they are going to utilize rolling road blocks.”
The project, which is part of a long-term effort scheduled to conclude in September 2026, will involve periodic closures over the coming months.
“Traffic will continue to the next exit to flip around to the opposite direction to return back to those ramps. So, depending if you are heading east or west on U.S. 30, those detours will, of course, be different,” Borell said. “They’re very short detours to get to the direction that you’re needing to travel.”
The work this week is a short-term phase of the overall project, with daily operations running from 7 a.m. to 4:30 p.m.
