GRAND RAPIDS, MI – I fly frequently to see family and friends because I don’t enjoy being in a car for more than three or four hours for any trip, if avoidable.

I have never been afraid to fly. I find it peaceful being up in the clouds. I was excited for my first flight, a solo trip to Nebraska. My mother’s childhood friend is married to a captain in the Air Force, who was at a base there and I hung out with their older teen daughters that summer.
