GREENSBORO, N.C. — Greensboro police are investigating a shooting that left one person dead on Hamilton Hills Drive. The incident occurred around 5:14 p.m. on Tuesday, according to police.
Officers responded to reports of a shooting and found Wilmer Lewis Jones suffering from serious injuries. Jones was transported to the hospital, where he later died.
A recording obtained from Broadcastify captured the initial shooting call: “Shooting call over on…Hamilton Hills.”
Police said that all parties involved have been identified, but a motive has not yet been released.
Residents of the neighborhood expressed their distress over the incident. Several neighbors, who wished to remain anonymous, shared their shock and disbelief that such a tragic event occurred on their street.
The Greensboro Police Department stated that the investigation is ongoing.
