Authorities on Monday arrested a fourth person they said was involved in the death of a 19-year-old Rocky Mount man and his friend more than a week earlier.
According to the Rocky Mount Police Department, officers arrested 19-year-old Keyvonte Keysahwn Tyson on Baber Court and charged him with first-degree murder.
Authorities believe Tyson is involved in the death of 19-year-old Ryo Steele and his friend, 20-year-old La’Ren Dickens.
Authorities found Steele and Dickens on July 13 at Martin Luther King Park on Virginia Street. It was one of three shootings that weekend in the city, all of which were unrelated.
Both Steele and Dickens died at the scene, according to police.
Police previously charged one man, 22-year-old Devonte Dales, in Steele’s death and two additional men, 27-year-old Bernard Smith and 70-year-old Trevion Scarboro, in Dicken’s death.
Tyson is at the Edgecombe County Jail under no bond while Rocky Mount police continue their investigation, which they say is ongoing.
