At approx. 12:13 am, Ward 6 Fire responded to a mutual aid request from DeQuincy Volunteer Fire Department for a vehicle crash involving a train and a passenger vehicle. The crash occurred at the crossing on 4th st near the DeQuincy Memorial Hospital.
The driver was able to self extricate and medical care was provided by Acadian Ambukance. Unfortunately, one female occupant was found deceased in the vehicle.
DeQuincy Police Department is investigating the crash with assistance from Louisiana State Police. Other agencies that responded included Calcasieu Parish Coroner’s Office.
