Driver dies in West Valley City car crash


WEST VALLEY CITY — A driver died in a crash in West Valley City on Wednesday evening.

The driver was traveling at a high rate of speed and rear-ended the vehicle in front of them at at 3500 S. 4600 West, said West Valley City Police Sgt. Jason Vincent. The driver was wearing a seat belt, he said.

Those in the vehicle that was rear-ended did not sustain any injuries.

The area remains closed to traffic after the crash and was expected to reopen by 10:30 p.m.

The identity of the driver who died has not yet been released.
