DOUGLAS COUNTY, Colo. (KKTV) – The Douglas County Sheriff’s Office asked the public for help in identifying a woman whose body was found Sunday morning along I-25. Deputies said the body was found along the southbound side of I-25 just north of Exit 173 near Larkspur. On Sunday, one lane of traffic was shut down in the area while deputies conducted a death investigation. The sheriff’s office is now working to identify the woman and find out the cause of her death. Deputies described the woman as an adult with brown or black hair found wearing grey leggings and a black long-sleeve shirt. They also said “distinctive bedding” was recovered from the scene and shared photos in hopes someone may recognize it. Those photos are provided below. On Monday, deputies asked commercial vehicle drivers who passed through the area on June 4th or 5th to check their camera footage for any suspicious activity. They said vehicles that captured anything along southbound I-25 near exit 173 could have important information, even if it does not seem relevant. On Tuesday, officials added a request for more information and video from the area, this time from between May 24th at 8 a.m. and May 25th at 1 p.m. If you have information regarding the woman’s identity or have seen anything suspicious in the area, contact Metro Denver Crime Stoppers at 720-913-7867.
