A Colorado jury has reached its decision in a tragic case.
After two days of deliberation, James Craig was found guilty of first degree murder and sentenced to life in prison without the possibility of parole for the 2023 fatal poisoning of his wife Angela Craig, who died after consuming protein shakes dosed with a combination of chemicals that included the medication found in eye drops, according to NBC News.
In addition to the murder conviction, the former dentist was also convicted of several other charges, including solicitation to commit murder in the first degree in connection to his efforts to enlist a fellow inmate to kill a detective who had investigated Angela’s death.
The 47-year-old—who shares six children with his late wife—was only acquitted of one of his seven charges, being found not guilty of manslaughter.
Angela was hospitalized on March 15, 2023, after complaining of a “severe headache” and dizziness, according to an arrest warrant obtained by NBC News at the time.
Three days later, the matriarch—who had already been admitted to the hospital twice in the three weeks prior—died after having a severe seizure, per the report.
