On July 2, 2025, the New York State Police announce the arrest of James Valentine, age 57, from Cornwall, New York, stemming from an incident that occurred over the course of several years in the Town of Clarkstown.
On June 4, 2025, Investigators from SP Montgomery Bureau of Criminal Investigation (BCI) were notified that two 15-year-old male victims had inappropriate interactions with Valentine while at his home in the Town of Cornwall. Investigation by the State Police BCI revealed that Valentine had been inappropriately touching numerous juvenile male victims over the course of over twenty years. Valentine was arrested on July 2, 2025, for Attempted Criminal Sexual Act 1st, a C Felony, and Course of Sexual Conduct Against a Child 2nd, a D Felony, and arraigned in the Town of Clarkstown Court where he was remanded to Rockland County Jail with bail set at $25,000 cash, $50,000 bond, or $75,000 partially secured bond. Valentine is to reappear in the Town of Clarkstown Court on July 7, 2025.
The State Police were assisted in this investigation by the Federal Bureau of Investigation New York’s Hudson Valley Safe Streets Task Force, Town of Clarkstown Police, Rockland County District Attorney’s Office, and Orange County District Attorney’s Office.
