BOULDER COUNTY, Colo. (KKTV) – A man was arrested Wednesday on several counts of sexual exploitation of a child, according to the Boulder County Sheriff’s Office.
Detectives at the Boulder County Digital Forensics Lab (BCDFL) were notified that a law enforcement officer in another jurisdiction had received child sexual abuse material (CSAM) files from someone in Boulder County during a Peer-to-Peer investigation.
Peer-to-peer file sharing allows people using special software to download and share files with other users around the world via the internet, according to deputies.
An Internet Crimes Against Children (ICAC) Task Force investigator identified 35-year-old Terry Lee Drake as a possible suspect through investigation and service of court orders on electronic service providers (ESPs), deputies said.
A search warrant was obtained for his home in the 3100 block of Westwood Court in Boulder. Detectives and the Boulder Police SWAT Team reportedly seized several electronic devices.
Deputies said Drake was charged with two counts of sexual exploitation of a child – possession of videos, and two counts of sexual exploitation of a child – possession of images.
He is being held in the Boulder County Jail without bond.
