CHAPEL HILL, N.C. (WTVD) — Chapel Hill Police said Tuesday night that they have identified one of the three suspects in an armed carjacking Saturday morning.
The car theft happened just before 2:30 a.m. Saturday in the 1500 block of East Franklin Street. The stolen vehicle was found two hours later in Durham.
On Tuesday, police said they were looking for 16-year-old Shaun Derek Dunn.
Dunn has been charged with robbery with a dangerous weapon, possession of stolen goods/property, possession of stolen goods/property, felony larceny, felony conspiracy, and second-degree kidnapping.
“We believe Shaun Dunn is armed and dangerous,” said Police Chief Celisa Lehew. “If you see him, call 911 and do not approach him.”
Police added that they have linked the stolen vehicle in the carjacking to an Armed robbery.
“Our investigators are working to identify other suspects in both cases, and I remain confident that we will continue to make progress,” Lehew said.
